What are student-led teaching awards?
The Student-Led Teaching Awards (SLTAs) are a way for students to recognise and raise the profile of teaching at Flinders University while celebrating good practice. This student-run award celebrates the best student learning experiences across the University and the staff that make it possible. Students have determined the categories, nominated the lecturers, and selected the winners.
Nominations were open to all Flinders students to nominate staff during October. Our student judges met in early November to determine the winners based on the strength of the nominations received from the student community.
Who were the judges?
Our judges panel was drawn from across the University.
In 2022 they were:

- Jessica Williams is the 2022 Education Officer of the Flinders University Students Association (FUSA). Previously, she has been elected Mature Age Students Officer of FUSA and has also been a Topic Representative in the College of Science and Engineering.
- Anu Francis is the Disabilities Officer on the Student Council of FUSA and undertaking a Bachelor of Exercise Science. Anu has also had experience as a Course Representative for Clinical Exercise Physiology in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
- Eva Coussens is a Course Representative in Criminology, in the College of Business, Government and Law. Eva has also served on the College Education Committee, the Student Progress Committee and the Course Quality Advisory Group for Criminology in CBGL.
- Yunus Soni is a current Topic Representative in the College of Medicine and Public Health.
- Graham Davidson is a current Topic Representative in the College of Science and Engineering.
- Claudia Didyk is a HDR Student Representative and PhD candidate in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
Prizes
Our winners will receive a $200 gift card and a plaque in recognition of their award. Honourable Mentions are awarded a certificate. Students who submitted the winning nominations receive a $50 gift voucher.
