Two free zine workshops for Flinders students
Create a zine exploring lived experience, identity and storytelling, with disabled and neurodivergent students centred and all Flinders students welcome.
The workshops are designed around empowerment, accessibility and care, with no previous art, writing or zine-making experience required.

These workshops invite students with disability and/or neurodiversity to create zines that explore their stories, lived experience and identities.
Zine-making offers a flexible, low-pressure way to write, draw, cut, paste, collage and communicate on your own terms. You can participate in whatever way feels right for you, and you do not need previous creative experience.
The project has a strong storytelling and self-expression focus through an equity lens. Disabled and neurodivergent students are centred, while all currently enrolled Flinders students are welcome to take part.
This student-led project is supported by FUSA and funded by Medibank through the Flinders Community Grants program.

The online workshop has now been completed. The in-person workshop is still open for bookings, with a maximum of 15 students.

Materials, refreshments and catering will be provided. Registration will ask about dietary requirements and any accessibility arrangements you would like us to consider.

Designed with access in mind
We want students to be able to take part in a way that works for them. Registration will include space to tell FUSA about access requirements or adjustments that would support your participation.

- Registration will include space to tell FUSA about accessibility requirements or adjustments that would support your participation.
- We’ll ask about dietary requirements as part of registration.
- If you need a support person or another adjustment to attend, you can tell us when you register.
Online workshop completed
- This workshop was held online on Tuesday 6 October 2026.
- Students could participate in different ways, including using chat instead of speaking, keeping cameras off or taking breaks.
- Creative packs were provided to registered participants for the workshop.
Across both workshops
- No previous zine-making, art or writing experience is required.
- You choose what you make, how personal it is and what you share.
- You are not required to disclose personal, medical or difficult experiences.
- Different ways of communicating, creating and participating are welcome.
- Disabled and neurodivergent students are centred, while all currently enrolled Flinders students are welcome.
